Our Courses

The University of Divinity offers diplomas, undergraduate degrees, graduate certificates and diplomas, postgraduate degrees and higher degrees by research. These are located at levels 5 to 10 of the Australian Qualifications Framework. All the University’s awards are in Divinity and its associated disciplines, in the broad field of Society and Culture. Each award is offered by one or more Colleges of the University. Students enrol in a course through a College but may take units at other Colleges of the University. Some courses and units are available online.

Units

Units offered by each College can be found on the College’s website or published handbook. A summary of units offered each year can be consulted at the University of Divinity’s Unit Directory, units.divinity.edu.au.

Units are offered at one of the following levels:

  • Diploma (unit number coding begins with 0)
  • Undergraduate Level 1 (unit number coding begins with 1)
  • Undergraduate Level 2 (unit number coding begins with 2)
  • Undergraduate Level 3 (unit number coding begins with 3)
  • Postgraduate Foundational (unit number coding begins with 8)
  • Postgraduate Elective (unit number coding begins with 9)
  • Capstone (unit number coding begins with 3 (undergraduate) or 9 (postgraduate))

The University of Divinity structures its learning, teaching and research around four broad Fields of study, each Field housing a range of disciplines. These are listed below, together with the abbreviation for each Field and discipline used in unit codes throughout the University and its Colleges.
