Research Day 2018

Research students and staff of the University of Divinity are invited to join in a vibrant day exploring the outstanding research and scholarship amongst our community across theological disciplines. Staff and students will be inspired by presentations from over 40 of the University’s researchers, as well as opportunities to network and engage.

This year, Research Day will be held at St Athanasius College’s brand-new city campus, Eporo Tower. Located in the centre of Melbourne CBD, at 285 La Trobe Street, the venue is easily accessed from Melbourne Central Railway Station and all city trams. Here, modern facilities are compellingly complimented by richly decorated art and iconography depicting historical figures of the Coptic Orthodox Church. The church, located below the seminar rooms, will be open throughout the day for participants to view and for those who may seek a moment of respite and prayer.

Plenary sessions

Reverend Dr Robyn Whitaker: ‘Rhetoric and Divine Representation in the Book of Revelation’
Reverend Dr Geoff Thompson: ‘Canon, Doctrine, and the Christian Social Imaginary’

The day runs from 9:30am-4:30pm and includes refreshments at morning tea and lunch.

Members of the University’s research community are invited to attend this event at no cost. Registrations are essential for catering purposes and close on 30 May 2018. Places are limited, so book early.
